- Tenders are invited for Provincial Wildfire Management Assessment - Argentina Argentina has seen an increase in droughts and high temperatures in recent years and is expected to see the continuation of this trend in the coming years. Such changes have provided favorable conditions for fire propagation and are linked to recent fire events across different provinces; that have destroyed forests; rangelands; and infrastructure. These fire events have not only a high cost to control but also have caused severe air pollution in key urban areas of the country. As a result; in January 2022 the federal government declared a one-year fire emergency at the national level; however; it was extended until January 2024 given the adverse climate conditions.
